Check out this totally retro TV advertisement for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance SP Classic NES Edition:
I completely forgot this ad had music from the synth pop group Yaz. The song is called “Situation” off their 1982 album “Upstairs At Eric’s”.
There was a time when you couldn’t step into a dance club or a roller skating rink without hearing at least part of this song booming over the sound system.
Anyway, back to playing some retro games on my Game Boy Advance SP NES Edition.

Cool commercial. I like seeing the classic style NES Game Boy Advance being played. As for the music… I cannot believe people listened to that stuff on a regular basis. Hahaha. Is that one of your faves Sean?
@Brandon: Indeed, people did (and still do) listen to music like the song in this commercial. Let’s hear it for the 1980’s and 1990’s music! Hehe.
To answer your question, no this song isn’t one of my favorites as I’m more of a heavy metal or rock sort of person, but I do like the song.
Just think, 20 years from now, the songs we currently listen to, people will say exactly what you said here today “I cannot believe people listened to that stuff on a regular basis”
That is totally true. I bet some day I too will be made fun of. On a different subject, this post inspired me to get onto YouTube and watch some old NES commercials. If you want a good laugh, go watch some. Everything about those old commercials are funny. I actually even remember some of them on TV from when I was a kid.

@BitMaster: It would be cool if you could take a picture of your classic NES series GBA box. I’d like to see it. Unfortunately I only own the system but no box for it.
