Sega Dreamcast: Crazy Taxi 2

Crazy Taxi 2 for the Sega Dreamcast is a lot like the original game, only with new scenery and a couple other minor upgrades.

That’s fine for people who didn’t play the first game, but for Crazy Taxi veterans this is awfully familiar.
This time the action takes place in New York City, but except for less hills and the addition of a large bridge, the scenery really doesn’t look a whole lot different from the first game.
You have four cabbies to choose from including two tough white guys, a black girl, and an old man.

Instead of picking up only one person all the time, you can now pick up groups of two to four people. Groups tend to whoop it up pretty good, but it’s hard to tell what they’re saying over the background music.
Speaking of music, it’s all provided by the Offspring this time. The songs are fine, but they all start to sound the same after a while – a little variety would have been nice.
Game controls include a new “hop” move that lets you leap over traffic, and even ride the rooftops. This is a fun upgrade from the original Crazy Taxi.
The bottom line, Crazy Taxi 2 is a lot of fun, but if you’re burnt out on the first one, this will get old in a hurry.
I have to agree, Crazy Taxi 2 is really just the second verse, same as the first. This isn’t a compliment. I’ve always found the controls to be frustrating while the physics make it hard to be precise while driving. Also, how about more numerous and less stereotyped driver?
@Luke: Do you feel the same with the controls from the first Crazy Taxi? If memory serves me right, you can adjust the controls in the options screen. I’ll have to fire the game up again to make sure. If you find out before me, comment again.
I also prefer the original Crazy Taxi over the sequel, but I did like the hop move and the ability to pick up multiple passengers, especially the cheerleaders LOL
