Super Sized Classic Atari 2600 Joystick

The “Super Stick” it is an oversized Atari 2600 controller that measures 5 feet tall, approximately 15 times larger than an original joystick:

It was made for the 2005 I Am 8-Bit museum exhibit 1988 grand opening in Los Angeles, California. Apparently it works too. I want one… hehe.
According to my friend Jason (thanks for the photo), people who attended the opening of this exhibit were allowed to jump on it and play a few games.
Too bad I wasn’t able to attend the opening of this exhibit. I would have loved to play some Pitfall or maybe a few rounds of Atlantis with this joystick.
Speaking of classic Atari games, why not play a couple rounds of Asteroids in our free classic game room where the game is never over.
Okay, I want one of these now!!! had never heard of such a thing being made… of course I did hate the old Atari joysticks (always tended to go for Quickshot myself in the days of the digital joysticks) – but there’s still an unmistakble quality to them!
Cheers,
Dave
@Dave: Indeed, it’s really cool and I would also love to have a giant Atari 2600 controller. The only issue I have is with all the classic and retro gaming systems I already have everywhere including the games, toys, accessories, etc, I’m not quite sure where I’d put one but I’d find room I’m sure.
Side note, my friend Jason shot some video of people playing with the joystick, so soon as he can provide me a digital copy, I’ll post it.
Can you imagine playing Centipede using this thing? You’d get RSI in your left foot!
I’m not sure which one I like better, this giant Atari 2600 controller or the NES coffee table. Both are really cool.
I love how the person playing on the Atari joystick is wearing a pair of classic Vans sneakers.
@CaptainD: That would be crazy to play Centipede with this beast of a controller.
@Rob: My personal favorite is the NES controller coffee table, only because it serves multiple purposes and if you’re going to have such a large piece in a collection, it needs to do more then just look pretty.
@Billy: I noticed the Vans shoes too. Haha.. I use to wear Vans back in my skate boarding days.
