Vintage Nintendo Game Boy Carrying Case

As most of my friends know, I’m a huge video game collector and I usually hold on to most of my classic systems, retro games and various accessories.
I purchased my Game Boy brand new in 1989. It came with Tetris, headphones (ear buds) and a link cable.
Here is a picture of my really cool giant Game Boy carrying case that looks like a Game Boy:

As you can see, my Nintendo Game Boy is in pristine condition. I try and take really good care of my stuff.
My local game stores love it when I trade things in because all of my consoles, games, etc are always in super nice shape, but my Game Boy is a keeper.
This box is definitely, uh… something. It definitely puts the modern Nintendo systems’ bowling bag carrying cases to shame.
Indeed, back in the day Nintendo came out with some cool stuff like this. The date on the back of the case is 1991.
I’ve always said if I found another case like this, I would make it a working Game Boy. Now that would be awesome don’t you think?
That would be a big GB. What would you use for the screen? A regular GB screen magnified?
Yes, a giant Game Boy. For the internals, I would use a beat up Game Boy and probably some aftermarket buttons. For the screen, I would have to do as you suggest and magnify the original screen or track down a larger LCD screen I suppose.
I absolutely love this. Just look at how detailed the giant Game Boy is. It would make such an amazing giant Game Boy. If you are serious about making one, I know where I could get you one exactly like that. It never amazes me the weird things you have Sean. haha
If you made a giant game boy you would have to bring it in so I could see it.
I have this case, but a slightly different version of it. Mine has the words “nintendo Game Boy” running up the left side of the front face, on a beveled edge. The interior layout is different, too. I didn’t know yours existed till now.
I really want one of these too :< any ideas where I can find one?
